A secret is only fascinating if it can be shared through a flow of words that are capable of shaping something that is nothing but a feeling. Sometimes it feels like a paradox, as the bigger the secret is, the louder you feel like revealing it, so that all may share the rare pleasure of grasping something that is unique and almost untouchable”.

*Crafty*

It’s not too often I get crafty these days. But when I saw this project from design*sponge (I posted it a while back; just click archive at the bottom), I knew it was one I was going to do.The chandelier in my dining room has never *thrilled* me so when I came across some un-used IKEA lamp shades, the plan came together! I removed the glass and the shades fit great. Yes, upside down. But that’s part of the charm. The craft plans called for cutting circles, but I made the switch to squares when my circle cutter didn’t do the job and when I quickly realized that cutting them by hand would take f-o-r-e-v-e-r. I’m not quite finished with the whole project yet; like all good crafting, it takes longer than you think! But here’s a sneak-peek for now. Enjoy!

Just had an urge to search for a photo of my “dream home”. These come close but not quite as big as some of these. It would be white, ultra modern with a slight nod to japanese and mid-century. I’d like a lot of glass, cement, water, rocks, dark floors, white walls and tactile textiles. And my must-have: a sunken living room.
